Abstract

The pharmaceutical business uses bibliographical references to clinical trials that 
support their medications in their marketing because to the impact of the rapidly expanding evidence
based medicine movement on physicians' prescribing practices. Our goal was to determine whether 
the promises made in ads regarding the cost, convenience, safety, and effectiveness of 
antihypertensive and lipid-lowering medications were supported.
