Abstract

The World Health Organization (WHO) defines self-medication as a component of self-care that involves
people choosing and using medications to treat ailments or symptoms they have identified on their own
[1]. In order to lessen the strain on health care facilities, particularly in understaffed, inaccessible distant
locations, self-medication is used to quickly and effectively relieve the symptoms of mild illnesses without
the need for medical consultations [2, 3].
