Abstract

In this study, an important link between Optimization theory, Trace theory, and Lie Symmetry theory is
highlighted, as an extension of well-known conclusions from Partial Differential Equation (P.D.E) analysis. One
important step in developing the ideas and conclusions is to re-evaluate the accepted variational symmetries with
compatible Boundary Value restrictions. The methods of classical variational formulation are examined for a
selection of boundary value problems. Additional important features that have been addressed to a satisfactory degree
include the consequences of standard and modified admitted variational symmetries on the simplification of PDEs
